The voice from the pole (2008)

With his characteristic light and engaging style, the immortal Moacyr Scliar revisits recurring themes in his vast and award-winning body of work, such as Jewish immigration to Brazil and medicine, to tell the story of a young man who dared to believe in his dreams, pursue that ideal, and make it worthwhile, even though he fought against everyone and everything. The title is inspired by the career of Maurí cio Sirotsky Sobrinho, the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants, who went to Brazil and became a pioneer in telecommunications in Rio Grande do Sul.
