The hill of sighs (1999)

In the town of Pau Seco, soccer is what starts or stops the city. The stadium is next to the cemetery. Rubinho, the town’s star player is the only possible salvation for the people of Pau Seco but is publicly humiliated when he reveals his fear of scoring a goal in front of the tomb of his late idol, Bugio. He disappears with only one desire: revenge.

It’s a turning point in his life. Issues of ethics, politics, society, family and love as well as good and evil are discussed with humor and subtlety.
