The drop of water (2005)

This tale by Moacyr Scliar tells the story of a drop of water and its encounter with a boy, Toninho Miu do. The eldest son in a large family, Toninho lived in an extremely dry region where there was no water for plants, animals or even people. One day, the boy went out, as he always did, hoping to find some water in a small spring near his home. The spring had dried up. But between the rocks, he saw a drop of water that quickly disappeared into the sand. The drop of water also saw Toninho and had time to hear him say that it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. The drop continued its journey towards the sea, always remembering the poor boy. The boy would remain in the harshness of the barren land, always remembering the beauty of the drop. But their encounter was not in vain. One day, the drop was able to turn into rain and fall on the dry land where Toninho lived.
